Investigate Teacher's Perceptions and Attitudes towards Various Aspects of Professional Development Were Provided in Teacher Training College

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate teacher's perceptions and attitudes towards various aspects of professional development were provided in teacher training college. This study used a exploratory mixed methods approach involving 368 elementary and middle school teachers that engaged on the job professional development courses in teacher training college and 11 their educators from six teacher training college. The main purpose of the qualitative phase was to develop a background for a questionnaire and provisional model to be used in the quantitative phase. Structural equation modeling analysis during the quantitative phase provided a ten-factor model that shows the relationships of different factors regarding professional development in teacher training college. The result of study provided exploratory model to describe the relationship between teacher's motivation and participation in professional development, professional development strategy, context and environmental aspect of teacher training college, and positive and negative outputs of it.
