Impact of Designing Constructivist Learning Environments on the Student's Satisfaction, Attitude and Achievement in Higher Education (Case Study- the Course of Human Relations in Educational Institutions)

Abstract:
This research is intended to investigate the effectiveness of constructivist learning environment on the include students’ satisfaction, attitude and achievement in higher education. Research method was quasi-experimental and pre-test –post-test control group design was used. Samples were from BA education students of University of Mazandaran who were studying “Human Relations in Educational Institutions” in the second semester of the 2010-2011 academic years. Thus 56 students randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. In order to evaluate effectiveness of learning environment, proposed depended variable including students’ satisfaction, attitude and achievement measured and compared with control group. Research tools included two questionnaires to measure students’ satisfaction and attitudes and a test was used to measure their academic achievement. The findings indicated that using constructivist learning environment in higher education has resulted in increased students’ satisfaction, more positive attitude among them and their higher academic achievement. This means that constructivist learning environment can be considered as an effective strategy towards improving the overall effectiveness of the instruction in universities.
