Evaluation of factors inhibiting scientific collaboration at international levels (Case study of Tehran University faculty members based on joint authorship as reflected in ISI database)

Purpose
The aim of this study was to evaluate the inhibiting factors in International Scientific Collaboration based on Joint Authorship from the viewpoint of Tehran University faculty members.Methodology
We used an applied research and survey method. Research population included 270 Tehran University faculty members who filled in a questionnaire. Findings
The results showed that the political variable with (3.53) was the most effective barrier for scientific collaboration. The lowest variable with (2.21) was the cultural variable. Also, the results revealed that there was a significant and negative correlation between joint scientific output and other 3 variables (i.e., political, organizational and motivational.)Keywords:
