The effectiveness of narrative therapy for reducing symptoms of separation anxiety in children

Abstract:
Introduction
The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of narrative therapy for reducing symptoms of separation anxiety disorder in primary school children was conducted in 2013 in Kermanshah.
Methods
The study was a semi-experimental design with pre-posttest design with control group. 22 girls of primary school were selected based on the available sampling and assigned to the experimental and control groups، randomly. Both the pre-test and post-test using the Child Symptom Inventory، which has two forms، especially parents and teachers، were evaluated، and The data were analyzed using analysis of covariance.
Results
The results showed that narrative therapy in reducing the symptoms of separation anxiety disorder in children in the experimental group was effective (P <0/001).
Conclusion
According to the results، therapists and others who work with children can to use therapy techniques to treat anxiety disorders.
