The Role of Journalists in the Process of Securitization

Journaists as basic elements of print media can exert great effects on different social, cultural, and political areas. Many of such effects have been investigated in lots of researches. Nevertheles, the vital role of journalists HAS been somehow degraded in certain theoretical and pragmatic aspects especially in political sciences. One of these aspects is the role of journalists in the process of securitization. The present study tries to contribute to the understanding of the "role of journalists in threatening or empowering the national security" by investigating the role of journalists in the process of securitizing a public subject or in securitizing a security subject.
