The Effects of 12 week Endurance Training on glucose amount, Blood insulin and Heart Structure in type 2 diabetic Rats

Abstract:
Introduction
Type 2 diabetes as a factor for heart disease is a major contributor to deaths due to cardiovascular disease, The aim of this study was to evaluate The effects of 12 week endurance training on serum glucose, insulin and heart structure in type 2 diabetic Rats.
Materials And Methods
16 male Wistar rats with an average weight of 200 ± 20 g were randomly divided into two groups, diabetic control (n = 8) and diabetic endurance (n = 8) and were kept in vitro, The experimental group received endurance training for 12 weeks. The following factors were measured: Body weight ( BW), heart weight (HW), left ventricular mass (LHW), percentage of heart weight to body weight (HW / BW), heart weight, left ventricular weight (LVW / HW), resting heart rate (RHR ), amount of glucose, insulin, insulin resistance index, In order to analyze the data, independent sample t-test at p ≤ 0/05 significance level was used.
Results
The results showed that there was a significant difference between the average left ventricle weight (P= 0/005), the percentage of the heart weight to the body weight (P= 0/001), amount of glucose (P= 0/000), insulin (P= 0/000), and resting heart rate (P= 0/003), between the endurance diabetic group and the control diabetic group (p
Conclusion
Based on the results of the present study, it seems that endurance training affects the amount of blood glucose and insulin and the heart structure. Therefore, it can be considered as an effective interference method.
