Abstract:
This research investigates the relationship between sense of loneliness as well as marital commitment and extent of use of social media in women. The statistical population of this research consists of married female students who had been studying at Islamic Azad University, Central Branch, Tehran, Iran in the academic year of 2016-2017. Out of this, a sample of 300 individuals was chosen through multistage cluster sampling method. In this research, UCLA loneliness scale (Russel, 1996), dimensions of commitment inventory (DCI) by Adams and Jones (1997) and social media disorder (SMD) questionnaire by van den Eijnden, Lemmens, Valkenburg (2016) were used. Following data collection, the data was examined using statistical methods of Pearson correlation coefficient and regression.
