China's Middle East Foreign Policy in light of the New World Order

Abstract:
This article seeks to examine foreign policy of one of the three major actors in the world order, China, in relation to the new geopolitical developments in the Middle East. Accordingly, this paper is organized at two levels of analysis: the first level refers to China's position in the political and economic power structure of the new international system, and the second level focuses on its implications for China's foreign policy orientation towards new geopolitical developments in the Middle East. The article claims that China, by adopting a mediating foreign policy on Middle East crises and conflicts, is attempting to act as an ideal and balanced force for emerging from regional crises. By expanding economic relations with the countries of the region, political, economic and military presence Guaranteeing its long-term prosperity in the Middle East, and in particular the Persian Gulf, thereby reducing the dominant position of the United States in the region and facilitating the balance of power in the international arena.
