Predictors of post traumatic growth in damaged women: Spirituality, social support, self-efficacy and resilience

Abstract:
Post traumatic growth is the experience of positive change that achieved following struggling with challenging life crises. The aim of this study was predicting post traumatic growth based on variables of spirituality, social support, self-efficacy and resilience in damaged women in Isfahan city. This study is a descriptive correlational study. 300 women with cancer and bereavement in the last two years selected using purposive and volunteer sampling method. Participants completed Post Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), Spiritual Health Questionnaire, Social Support Questionnaire, Resilience Inventory and self-efficacy Scale. Results indicated that there are significant correlation between spirituality, self-efficacy, social support and resilience with posttraumatic growth and variables of spirituality, social support, self-efficacy and resilience are predictors of post traumatic growth. These results showed that these variables provide an important mechanism for traumatic events and help people experience more PTG.
