Estimating the volume of Trafficking and strategies to cope with it in Hamadan province

This study aimed to identify the estimated volume of trafficking goods and strategies to cope with it in Hamadan province. The high unemployment rate has led to the spread of trafficking, because the province of Hamadan is bordered by the provinces of importing trafficked goods, such as Kurdistan in the direction of trafficking transit. The present study estimates the volume of smuggled goods entering the province by using fuzzy method, and then the strategies to cope with these problems are presented from the security perspective. In this regard, positive (unemployment rate, exchange rate difference, import tariffs) and negative (GDP in the province and border control of the province) indicators were introduced on smuggling of goods. The statistical population consisted of 26 police, tax and university elites who were selected using purposeful sampling method and their views were introduced into MATLAB software. Based on the results, the average trafficking rate in Hamedan province is equal to 14.87 percent of the province's GDP (11974 billion rials). The results of the sensitivity analysis showed that the unemployment rate has the highest impact on GDP and the border control has the most negative effect on trafficking of goods. Establishment of official inspection stations in in busy smuggling routes, equipping police forces with modern and up-to-date equipment, strengthening police authority, reducing government reverse interference in coping with trafficking of goods and establishing joint commissions and cooperation of various units in the neighboring provinces in order to deal with trafficking are among the suggestions for this study.
