Phenomenological Study of Moral Crimes in the Life Experience of Addicted Women (Tehran 2018)
Women's addiction often have immoral consequences for them. The aim of this study was to study the lived experience of addicted women in committing moral crimes in Tehran.
The method of phenomenology and the technique of in-depth semi-structured interviews. The number of female addicts leaving the camp in one of the camps in Tehran or arrested for committing immoral acts in the moral security police has been 12. The analysis of the findings was done thematically and based on coding consisting of 36 concepts, 11 categories and 6 themes.
The main grounds for women's addiction are family breakups and inappropriate marriages in troubled families, personal and psychological characteristics, poverty, and bad family members and friends. Their understanding of the current situation is despair and the destruction of life and youth and the hope of leaving and returning to a healthy life. The consequences of addiction are loss of family and rejection, homelessness, confusion and sleep deprivation.
The strategy of these women is either to force their husbands, or to sexually assault them, or at their own discretion to obtain money and provide consumables for having illicit and immoral relationships. Life skills training is offered by schools and universities, facilities and bases for quitting addiction, government and public support for the return of these women.
