Suicide by injection of imidacloprid: A case report Review
Imidacloprid is a new and potent nitromethylene insecticide with high insect activity at very low speed. It is the first highly effective insecticide that acts on the nervous system like nicotine, blocking postsynaptic nicotinergic acetylcholine receptors. In this study, a case of suicide with injectable imidacloprid was reported.
At the scene of the suicide, a 24-year-old woman was lying on the ground in front of the first step of the house. The corpse bruise was naturally colored in the posterior areas of the trunk and the corpse was frozen. Cyanosis of the lips, nails, and subcutaneous injection site was evident on the outer right side of the umbilicus. Brief autopsy findings showed a total of about 20 cc in both pleural spaces. Toxicological samples were taken from the vitreous, blood, bile, liver, kidney, and stomach contents and tissue at the injection site.
