A survey of nurses' views on happiness and vitality
Today, providing care with happiness is one of the aspects of holistic care and the role of nurses in providing services to patients is important. Therefore, in this study, the status of happiness and vitality in nurses working in Tehran University of Medical Sciences evaluated.
In this cross-sectional study, of nurses working at Tehran University of Medical Sciences who accept to participate voluntarily, after singed informed consent, we asked to answer questions about their general health and level of happiness. The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHI) and general health Questionnaire used. Finally, the relationship between the results of the OHI questionnaire and the demographic status of individuals assessed. The results analyzed by SPSS VER 24 software.
In this study, 189 nurses participated. There was no significant difference between the different levels of the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire score with gender (P = 0.262), mean age (P = 0.599), place of work (P = 0.053), type of education (P = 0.755), type of employment, (P = 0.946), but a significant difference observed between different levels of the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire scores and the mean score of the Mental Health Questionnaire. (P <0.0001)
Nursing managers should pay attention to the factors affecting nurses 'happiness and this issue requires for managers to pay attention to others factors.
