Investigating the mediating role of non-targeted organizational forgetfulness on the relationship between organizational silence and resistance to change

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of organizational silence variable on resistance to change with the mediating role of non-targeted organizational forgetfulness . The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method and is correlational in terms of data analysis. The statistical population of the study included all employees of the General Department of Education and Training of Golestan Province, 128 people. The sample size was determined to be 97 people using the simple Karaj-Morgan table by simple random method. The data collection tools of this study are the organizational silence questionnaire of Vakola and Boradas (2005), the organizational forgetfulness questionnaire of Meshkami, Bastam and Deh Yadegari (2012) and the questionnaire of resistance to organizational change of Arg (2003). Data were analyzed using spss25 and smart pls software. Cronbach's method of reliability and reliability coefficient (CR) were used to evaluate the reliability of the research instrument, and the coefficient for all variables was more than 0.7. An average variance extract (AVE) was used to measure the validity of the questionnaire, which is more than 0.4 and is relatively acceptable. The results support all research hypotheses and show that organizational silence has a direct direct impact on resistance to change. In addition, organizational silence has a direct effect on unorganized organizational forgetfulness and unintentional forgetfulness on resistance to change. Also, organizational silence with the mediating role of non-target organizational forgetfulness has an indirect effect on resistance to change.
