Relationship between Social Well-being and Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Employees of Al-Zahra University Hospital, Isfahan, Iran

Abstract:

Abstract Introduction:

Today, social health as one of the dimensions of health, along with physical and mental health, has found a widespread role and importance. keyse believes that there is a positive relationship between social health and community friendly behaviors and responsibility in society and social status. The aim of this study was to identify the correlation between social health and organizational citizenship behavior among employees of a public hospital in Isfahan in 2020.

Methods and materials:

Statistical population of this survey is all employees of one of the public hospitals in Isfahan in 2020. The statistical population was 2600 and the number of samples was 340 people who were selected by simple random sampling method. A questionnaire was used to collect information and SPSS software was used to analyze the data.

Findings

The average score of social health of the study population in the distance scale (0 to 100) is 68.7 and the average score of organizational citizenship behavior index is 71.35. The correlation between social health and organizational citizenship behavior at the significance level of 0.01 is equal to 0.554. The social cohesion dimension with a correlation coefficient of 0.621 had the highest correlation with organizational citizenship behavior and the social cohesion dimension with a correlation coefficient of 0.111 had the lowest correlation coefficient with organizational citizenship behavior. R = 0.535 and R2 = 0.286 were calculated. The regression coefficient was equal to 0.547.

Conclusion

 The results of the two-variable hypothesis test also show that there is a significant and direct relationship between social health and organizational citizenship behavior. In a way that with increasing social health, organizational citizenship behavior also improves. The results of regression analysis also showed that the social health variable is effective in explaining organizational citizenship behavior.
