The Impact of Marine Culture Development on Improving the Defense Capacity

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of the maritime culture development on Increase defensive power. this research is applied in terms of purpose, mixed in approach and descriptive-analytical in Research Methodology. The statistical population of the study consisted of experts in the field of armed forces and naval organs and in two quantitative sections, 110 people were selected by random stratified sampling and 12 individuals were selected by purposeful sampling. To collect the research data, first, using library gathering methods and semi-structured interviews, 48 of the most important factors of marine culture development in four levels of public culture (internalized, symbolic, institutionalized and crystallized) were extracted from two perspectives of authorities and people and then Likert-type questionnaire was used to determine the effect of these factors on defensive ability. The results showed that the factors of maritime culture in political, social, economic, technological, territorial, transboundary and spatial dimensions affect the defense capability of the country. In other words, if we develop maritime culture as part of the general culture of the country and promote its activities at the two levels of government and public policy, that is to say, it will ultimately increase the defensive capacity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
