Predicting marital satisfaction based on self-differentiation and intimacy of couples in married students
The purpose of this study was to determine the marital satisfaction based on their differentiation and couples' intimacy in married students.
The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population consisted of all couples who were studying in Islamic Azad University units and were between the ages of 23 and 50 years old, 200 of whom were selected using available sampling and completed standard questionnaires of this research. The tools Data were collected by Lorenz marital satisfaction questionnaire, Thompson's and Wacker's Intimacy Scale, Scoron self-assessed differentiation questionnaire.
In the first step, the variable of self-differentiation was included in the equation, so that the differentiation itself alone was 51% Changes in marital satisfaction were explained. In the second step, the couples' inferiority variable was introduced into the equation and the coefficient of explanation increased to 0.65. The standard deviations of variables were significant in all steps.
In sum, these two variables, namely, differentiation Couples' intimacy explained a total of 65% of marital satisfaction variance and the remaining variance related to unknown variables. Comparing the results with similar sampling studies showed some of these results.
