Abstract:

Letters, whether historic or historical, make undeniable evidence in support of sound documentation of important events. The present study delves into 28 letters of Imam al-Husayn. They are analyzed for their sources, destinations, addressees, the discourses observable therein, the core and peripheral topics dealt with, and their parallelism with his speeches. Moreover, an attempt has been made to compare them with with the linguistic eloquence of the Prophet Muhammad and the Quranic indications discernible therein.
