Investigating the reason for the lack of a city and the lack of a basic theory of defining a city in Iran

Abstract:

There are different definitions and perceptions of the city that have similarities and differences. According to Article 4 of the Law on Definitions and Criteria of Iran, the city is a local place with legal boundaries that are located in a specific geographical area and in terms of construction context, employment and other factors have a feature with its own characteristics, so that The majority of its permanent residents are employed in business, commerce, industry, services and administrative activities and are relatively self-sufficient in municipal services. The city is the center of social, economic, cultural and political exchanges, and has a population of at least ten thousand people. Or the gathering place of a large number of people with different tastes, thoughts, behaviors, etc. Physically, the city is a place that has tall buildings, streets, parks, offices, infrastructure and urban facilities, and so on. In the economic dimension, the city is a place with a dominant aspect of industrial employment, services and consumption style and life or production method is different from the village. However, in Iran, there has been a lack of a city and a lack of a basic theory of the definition of a city in Iran, which the author has addressed in a descriptive-analytical way and using library resources.
