The relationship between personality traits and spiritual intelligence with the quality of life of veterans' wives
The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between personality traits and spiritual intelligence with quality of life in veterans' spouses.The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between personality traits and spiritual intelligence with quality of life in veterans' spouses. Health-related quality of life questionnaires (Varosherbon, 1992), Neo Five-Factor Questionnaire (McCreery and Costa, 1999) and Spiritual Intelligence (King, 2008) were used to collect data. Pearson correlation and multiple regression statistical methods were used to analyze the data.
The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between neurotic personality traits and quality of life of veterans' spouses, while spiritual intelligence and its components and personality traits of extroversion, openness to experience, conscientiousness compatibility with quality of life. Veteran spouses had a significant positive relationship (P <0.01). Also, the results of multivariate regression analysis simultaneously showed that the components of spiritual intelligence and personality traits were correlated with the quality of life of veterans' spouses by 0.59. This means that 35% of the total variance in the quality of life of veterans' spouses is explained by spiritual intelligence and personality traits (p <0.01).
The findings of this study can be used in planning to improve and control various components that can be effective in mental and physical health problems and in general the low quality of life of veterans' spouses.
