Relationship between Internet addiction and academic procrastination and psychological well-being of high school students
The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between Internetaddiction and academic procrastination and psychological well-being of high school students.
This research is a descriptive correlation in terms of applied purpose and in terms of natureand method. The target population is all 14543 female high school students in Hamedan in theacademic year of 1998-99, from which 384 people were selected based on Krejcie Morgan table usingmulti-stage cluster sampling method. In order to collect the required data, Yang Internet AddictionQuestionnaire, Reef Psychological Welfare Questionnaire and riding academic procrastinationquestionnaire were used. To analyze the data, Pearson correlation test was used. Multiple variance andregression were used in spss23 software environment.
The results showed that the components of Internet addiction (social problems, impact onperformance, lack of control, morbid use of Chat Room and neglect of job and educational duties) areable to positively delay the academic procrastination of female adolescents and psychological wellbeing in the form of Predict negatively and meaningfully.
Therefore, when students have a strong tendency to use the Internet and spend manyhours surfing in cyberspace, their sensitivity to academic performance as well as their socialinteractions and interactions decreases, and consequently their psychological well-being is negativelyaffected by this. A phenomenon has occurred and there is also a phenomenon called academicprocrastination in them.
