Organizing and recreating worn-out urban tissues with a pedestrian approach: Samen district of Mashhad

Worn-out tissues are parts of the city that unfortunately face many problems today due to the lack of attention of the officials and the lack of providing sufficient services, which has caused people to live and move from this tissue, perhaps the dominance of machine life over humans is an important factor in this happening . The continuation of the problems of these tissues has caused a decrease in the prosperity of the area and a decline in the quality of life in these tissues, which seems to be very necessary to organize them, considering the high potential of these tissues. The regeneration approach, as one of the new approaches of intervention in worn-out tissues, can be widely used in order to promote human values and quality of life in these tissues. This research seeks to organize and recreate the worn-out fabric of Saman area of Mashhad, which is located in its central fabric, in order to improve the pedestrian circulation and increase the quality of life in the fabric. The information required in this research has been collected by two methods, library and field documentation, using the questionnaire tool. In order to complete the questionnaire, 200 people have been randomly selected from among the residents of the central part of the city and experts and specialists so that by recognizing the internal and external factors facing the area and by emphasizing on the indicators and principles of urban regeneration, it can improve its condition by emphasizing on the approach The findings of the research show that regeneration has a direct and significant effect on the improvement of pedestrian circulation in the area. In addition, the results of the research show that the area of the old and worn fabric of Saman area of Mashhad, despite the problems it has in the field of pedestrian traffic, has good opportunities and strengths, and planning to take advantage of these potentials can improve its quality. . For this reason, according to the existing condition of the worn-out fabric of Saman region, the use of conservative solutions (Wo) is the first priority.
