Modeling Sustainable Consumption of Materials and Energy in Ecological Cities
Today, sustainable development is the focus of many countries in the world. In the passage of time, this concept has been transformed from focusing only on the environmental dimension or looking at a project towards sustainable development, to a current that has different economic, social and environmental dimensions. Various approaches have been presented to achieve urban balance and sustainability, one of these approaches is the ecological city. With the discussion of sustainable development at the global level and its approaches, especially in the environmental field, new horizons have been opened for managers and urban planners. The ecological city approach is a comprehensive and integrated approach that presents all the goals and dimensions of urban development with the focus on environmental sustainability, economic development and social justice. The purpose of this article is to model the sustainable consumption of materials and energy in ecological cities. The current research is descriptive-analytical in terms of applied purpose. The method of gathering information was in the form of documents and content analysis. emphasis is placed on the use of clean energy to Instead of fossil fuels, the reuse of municipal wastewater and waste recycling to reduce the ecological footprint, the use of organic waste as compost and rainwater for agriculture, the use of solar energy is emphasized, and the use of renewable energy sources. And making energy consumption efficient are the two main ways to achieve energy sustainability, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and then increasing the supply of healthy energy.
