Abstract:

Investment is the main requirement for countries that are trying to achieve a satisfactory level of economic development. One of the most important markets to attract investment is the capital market. By reviewing theoretical and empirical studies, we try to answer the question that what is the relationship between social capital and stock market? The findings of the paper show that the capital market is influenced by social capital through variables such as trust and the cooperation between individuals to achieve economic goals and as social capital is stronger as the economy and stock market will be strengthened. The paper also shows that by increasing communication, strengthening associations and increasing social participation that means boosting social capital, capital market will also be strengthened.Strengthening the capital market is a strategy that can have many fruits for different sections of society.And the overflow of positive effects is manifested in the strengthening of social capital in the capital market and economic development.
