Investigating the relationship between social capital and the level of social development in Jahrom neighborhoods

Abstract:

Social capital is the communication and social networks that can create a sense of cooperation and trust among the people of a society. Today, social capital is one of the central factors affecting the development of neighborhoods and cities. The research method of this article is a survey and the statistical population includes citizens over 18 years old living in neighborhoods of Jahrom city. The statistical sample of this study is 384 people. This figure was determined based on referring to Morgan table. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data and Amos structural equations SPSS software was used to analyze the research data. The results showed that the amount of social capital varies between the studied neighborhoods. Findings show that the level of interpersonal trust among respondents is higher than public trust and it is an institution that has a high level of informal participation among them and a low level of formal participation.
