Themes and Linguistic Concepts of Professional Competence of Faculty Members of Higher Education Institutions in Iran

Abstract:
Purpose

The present research was conducted with the purpose of studying the linguistic concepts and themes of professional competence of academic staff members of higher education institutions in Iran.

Materials and Methods

In terms of methodology, the current research is a research synthesis (systematic review of texts), but text analysis and theme analysis techniques have also been used in it. The statistical population included all scientific articles on the subject of "Professional competence of university faculty members" that are indexed in the ISC citation database. For data analysis, bibliometric components of articles were extracted and reported using scientometric techniques. Then, using text analysis and theme analysis techniques, the competence components of professors' professions of different universities were extracted and categorized. Analyzes have been done in Excel and Maxquida 10 software.

Findings

Scientific findings showed that researchers with the organizational name "Islamic Azad University" have conducted more research on this issue, most of the research conducted has been conducted with a quantitative approach, and the professional qualifications of the professors of "Jameh Universities" are much more than those of other universities. Is. The findings of the theme analysis showed that there is a difference between the professional competencies of the professors of different universities. All universities have in common "individual/personal competences", knowledge competences, "educational competences" and "communication competences".

Conclusion

The results obtained from the research is that the type and nature of professional competence of professors depends on the type of university where the professors are serving.
