Examining the Extreme Enthusiasm Model in the Use of Virtual Social Media in Athletes and Coaches
The purpose of the present study is to test the model of extreme enthusiasm in the use of virtual social media in athletes and coaches.
This study is based on the structural equation approach in terms of applied purpose and descriptive-survey implementation method. The statistical population of the research consists of all athletes and athletes in the city of Tehran with an indeterminate number of which 388 people were selected as the sample size using Cochran's formula for indeterminate population and cluster sampling method. A standard questionnaire tool was used to collect data, and the validity of the tools was checked and confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis and reliability using Cronbach's alpha method. In order to analyze the data, structural equation modeling method was used in Lisrel software version 8.
The results indicate the positive effect of the variables (use of the Internet for social interaction, use of the Internet for entertainment, and Internet unemployment) on extreme enthusiasm, as well as the positive effect of extreme enthusiasm on the variables (excitement and belonging in sports).
Today, with the spread of the Internet and its globalization, this extreme passion for using social media is seen more among athletes and coaches. In such a way that athletes during sports and coaches during training prepare content and share it on social media.
