The role of community-oriented planning in solving urban gray spaces

With the acceleration of the development of urbanization in the world, urbanization surpassed urban planning and various problems and troubles plagued the cities. In this regard, the urban planning system could not prevent the increasing trend of urban problems. One of these problems is the formation of gray spaces in cities. the current study is a research and applied type and its method is descriptive and analytical, and data collection is also done in the library and field, the case study of Koi Dizaj Hamedan, and qualitative method was used to analyze the data.The result of this research indicates that urban spaces are not developed based on the plans and predictions of urban planners and designers, but are formed under the influence of power and capital relations and are formed based on informal processes and actions from the bottom up. that instead of solutions such as eviction, demolition, etc., by using community-oriented planning and increasing the voluntary role of people and by using social capital and the participation of residents, some of the problems of urban gray spaces can be reduced and these spaces can be used for It made the inhabitants livable.
