Investigating the situation related to the job activities of women working in the informal sector

According to the plan of labor statistics of Iran Statistics Center, the informal employment of women in the country is increasing. The current research was done with the aim of drawing a view of the job activities of women working in the informal sector and based on dualistic (dual market), structural, legalism and feminist theories.
The current research was conducted with an inductive approach and with two qualitative methods (strategy of basic theory and thematic analysis) and secondary analysis. Targeted sampling technique was used and 50 women working in the informal sector and 25 experts of the informal employment sector were interviewed.
The results of this research indicate that among the 3.6 million working women in the country, more than 2 million people (56.4 percent) are employed in the informal sector, factors such as the trap of multiple capital deprivation and flexible independence as causal conditions. , the increasing growth of service jobs in the informal sector and being employed as a way to validate women in the society as background factors and finally, difficult economic conditions and interaction with informal workers as intervention factors in the formation and increase of women's work activities in the informal sector are effective. The research results showed that social exclusion (social isolation), bold resistance and soft policies are ways to deal with the consequences of women's presence in this sector.
In short, some key points can be mentioned as a - Due to major reasons such as difficult economic conditions and financial need, as well as gaining financial independence, the entry of women into the informal sector of employment is increasing. This problem shows that it is necessary to plan for its management. - Women working in this sector want support from insurance-support institutions; Because the long-term presence in this department has caused them many physical and mental injuries. - One of the most important ways that women working in this sector can follow up on their demands is creating a network and organizing among them. - By covering these people, the organization will get a potential source of income and its social credibility among the people of the society will also increase.
