Geographical Dispersion of the Crime in the Counties of Golestan Province

Problem Description: Geographical analysis of crime and efforts to discover the causes of such malformations has gained significant attention in recent decades. The present study tries to investigate and compare the crime dispersion between the cities of Golestan Province. The second target is to answer this question: which cities of the province are susceptible for social damages? And what is the relationship between population congestion and crime dispersion in the counties of the province? The populations for this survey were 15615 arrested criminals who had been jailed in the counties of Golestan since 2010. Among several crimes, five items were selected: murder, rape, documents fiction, addiction to drugs, and burglary. A sample containing 6866 people were chosen according to the mentioned items. The data were analyzed using SPSS and GIS softwares. Results and the results showed that the geographical distribution of crime in the counties of the province is totally dispersive. The congestion of burglary, addiction to drugs and documents fiction, murder, and rape in Bandar-e-gaz, Gorgan, Kordkooy, and Bandar-e-torkaman were 36.13, 26.91, 2.57, 2.65, and 2.03. The results show that there is a meaningful relationship between the population congestion and crime dispersion.
