How to attract border residents to participate in crime prevention and enhancement of the border security. (Kurdistan Province)

Theme and goal: crime phenomenon is one of the social problems and dilemma of all societies and how to face this problem, requires spending large sum of money, therefore crime prevention has so many benefits; it can be used as one of the micro strategies by authorities. Providing border security because of special function which they have in militaries, social, economic and cultural situation is every government basic responsibilities. To reach this goal, there are several different approaches for border securities and other security providers (especially borders agents): one of these approaches would be paying attention to people role for providing security. In fact, the purpose of this survey, is expressing how to get border residents to participate in crime prevention, raising security of border areas and studying the efficiency level of each methods.

according to the goal, technics used in this research are practical and based on the Research Survey, Writers by using of the existing sources and written experience in libraries and also with the help of border settler’s views which presented in the form of questionnaire, has analyzed the subject. Statistical Society and Sample Volume: Statistical society of this research is border settlers who are living in Kurdistan province. Sample volume using Cochran formula has included 384 individuals. Results and data: Survey data indicates that security authorities in border areas and specially borders police, is better to get help from residents involvement for crime prevention and security level promotion in border areas .Based on this study data, the best way to attract border people to get involved is: paying attention to border residents believes, preforming social and cultural activities; involving them in decision making; suitable actions of responsible authorities to provide security. If these four main elements is considered and performed by security providers, it can lead to prevent the crime and enhancement of security in border areas, definitely.
