The effect of peer educational program on multiple sclerosis patient's self- efficacy

Introduction
Multiple Sclerosis threatens independence and ability of person to effectively participate in the family and society . The purpose of this study was determined The effect of peer educational program on multiple sclerosis patient’s self- efficacy referred to Farshchian hospital and Multiple Sclerosis Association in Hamadan in City 2015.
Method
In this quasi-experimental study, 80 Patients with Multiple Sclerosis was selected with random available sampling sampling and randomly were divided to control and case groups. 4 sessions, each for 60 minutes, twice a week was performed for groups. After one month after the last training session, self-questionnaires were completed by both experimental and control groups. data were collected from both groups with Shere General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire . Data were analyzed with SPSS software (16 version) by descriptive statistics, independed-t, paired-t.
Results
in case group. There was a significant difference between the mean scores of Self-efficacy. The difference was not significant in the control group. There were no significant differences between the mean scores of Self-efficacy of case and control group before and after intervention .
Conclusion
Peer education methods could increase the level of efficacy in patients with multiple sclerosis. This method can be used as a valuable tool to improve the treatment and control of physical and psychological effects and increase the efficacy of the patient's disease
