The Comparison of fifty Laki and Persian Parables

The noble tribe of Lak settled in Zagros with its impressive historical and cultural background with sweet Laki Language has always been among Iran's greatest civilizations and cultures as a heritage and guardian of valuable and sometimes forgotten manifestations of the ancient Persian culture through Laki and its oral literature. The language of the Lak tribe, used in the northwestern Iranian, has its roots in ancient Persian languages; also, as a close relative to Persian, it has always been influenced by it to the extent that the oral literature of Lak people, with its prosperity, flourished with beautiful and old parables resembling Persian ones. Therefore, comparing the parables of two languages and showing their similarities are good ways to prove the connection of Laki with Farsi and to show their long-standing and permanent relationship. In this study, descriptive-analytical method, library resources, and field data are utilized; 50 Laki parables were compared with their Persian counterparts investigating their similarities and differences. The results suggest that the Laki parables and their Persian counterparts are the same regarding meaning and their use. Either the only difference lies in their structure in some cases tiny and negligible or in others; it is considerable so the parable has very different structures in laki and Persian. Such differences root in phonological, lexical, and syntactic differences of the two languages, the climatic and geographical differences of the tribes, and their perspectives on surrounding environmental factors and their reflections on the oral literature of both languages.
