A Comparative Study of the Professional Ethics of the Staff of Public and Private Nursing Homes in Tehran

Abstract:
Background

Professional ethics is one of the fundamental issues of all human societies. Each organizational set has ethical codes appropriate to the structure of its profession, which is called professional ethics. Familiarity with ethical standards and their application by employees plays an important role in the moral and professional excellence of the organization. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to compare the professional ethics of the staff of the public and private sector nursing homes in Tehran.

Method

This is a causal-comparative study and its statistical population is all employees of private and public nursing homes in Tehran, which were surveyed using the available sampling method of 225 people. The data collection tool in this research is the standard questionnaire of professional ethics and for data analysis, descriptive statistical methods and t-tests of two independent samples and variance f have been used.

Results

In this study, it was found that the staff of public nursing homes have a higher level of professional ethics than the staff of private nursing homes and women have a higher level of professional ethics than men and middle-aged people compared to other age groups.

Conclusion

Attention is felt to the establishment of care centers that can create more humane rather than rational conditions, especially in social services and nursing homes.
